BUSINESS HOURS:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

TYPING TESTS:

Typing tests are administered at the Employment Office Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the Boca Raton Campus and by appointment only at the Davie Campus, Fort Lauderdale Campus and the John D. MacArthur Campus.

BACKGROUND VERIFICATION:

The State of Florida requires all employees to sign a loyalty oath prior to employment.  Employees in certain classifications must be fingerprinted and/or undergo a criminal background investigation.  All new employees must undergo a criminal background investigation.

EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY VERIFICATION (I-9) FORM:

Florida Atlantic University hires only U.S. citizens and lawfully authorized alien workers. Prior to beginning work, new employees will be required to complete the Department of Justice Form I-9 which requires documentation that show identity and authorization to work at the University.

SELECTIVE SERVICE REGISTRATION:

Effective October 1, 1988, Chapter 88-185, Laws of Florida, requires Selective Service registration of State employees in order to be eligible for employment or promotional opportunities in authorized positions. Every male citizen of the United States and other male persons in the United States, except any alien lawfully admitted to the United States as a non-immigrant, between the ages of 18 and 26, must be registered with the Selective Service System under the Military Selection Service Act, 50 U.S.C. Apr. 453, and must be able to show proof of such registration.

VETERAN STATUS:

DIRECT DEPOSIT:

96-310, Laws of Florida, amended section 110.113, Florida Statues require mandatory participation in the direct deposit program. The use of direct deposit is now a condition of employment for a person appointed to a position in state government on or after July 1, 1996 unless they subsequently change to a different personnel system. It is the policy of Florida Atlantic University that all employees establish direct deposit with a financial institution for the purpose of payment of salaries, and other payments that may apply .
